Bio

mama bliss!

My name is Maasa and on May 22, 2010, I gave birth to my daughter in my living room organically. It was a long and powerful experience that led me to become a doula and a student of traditional midwifery. I learn from nature: from its beauty, its rhythms and its qualities. A flower bud has an intrinsic knowing to unfold when all elements align; just as an animal knows how to stop labor when she senses danger and to continue when she feels safe. Sadly, now more then ever, birth has become a medical event and it is my deepest wish that I may contribute to a more holistic approach to birthing. My passion is to be a steady support of love as a woman transforms into a mother. My hope is to inspire women to trust their innate wisdom to birth without fear and to embrace the supreme intelligence of her baby. I feel humbled and honored to be a part of this beautiful ceremony. May I serve you to feel empowered no matter how your birth unfolds and may you always look back on this day with gratitude for the life that you created.
